[ 2018-05-24 ] Design for a better world
The 2018 graduation exhibition of the Department of Industrial Design started from May 16 at the Arts & Culture Center on campus. 65 students presented their works that were designed for improving people’s lives.
Taipei Tech student,Wang Hsuan (王瑄), who suffers from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or ALS has won the president’s education award due to her efforts to design environments friendlier to people with impairments.
The inauguration ceremony of Taipei Tech Distance Learning Center was held on May 10.Rotary International donated computers and camera systems that are essential for distance learning. With Taipei Tech student acting as teacher, the center is expected to provide more learning resources to rural schools.
Came from Mexico, Taipei Tech student Fabiola who is currently in IMBA program shared her view on living and studying in Taiwan in an interview conducted by DaAi TV. In the interview, Fabiola gave high praise to Taiwan for its cultural diversity, safety, and convenience.
The 7th IEEE International Symposium on Next-Generation Electronics (ISNE 2018) was held on May 7-9 on Taipei Tech’s campus. The theme of ISNE 2018 is “Next-Generation Electronics for AI and 5G Communications”.
A team from Taipei Tech was awarded earlier this week with the "Best of the Year" title for a design submitted to the 2018 iF Design Talent Award.The students received not only the certificate for the top award in the global competition but also 1,500 euros (US$1,783) in prize money.
